High quality quality sources: digital streaming

I currently use a sonos to integrate my my digital sources - to summarise, these include internet radio, spotify premium, music held on a Nas, music held on a mac, PS3 blu ray & TV set top box.

The sonos is an excellent system for this and also allows me to site my naim boxes away from my router and distribute music around my apartment.

With naim, it seems I have a number of options for linking these sources to my naim amp:

1. Direct from the sonos (no dac)
2. Via the naim dac
3. Through a unity or unitiqute, in which case, I duplicate amplification capability, but perhaps the dac is a compromise
4. Through an HDX / NDX / HDX-SSD, in which case I duplicate music storage (but would need to continue to hold my video's on a NAS). Again perhaps the DAC is a compromise when compared to the naim dac.

Which do you feel would offer me a better upgrade path?

I'm planning to acquire either a NAC 252 or 282 and a NAP 250.

Many thanks,

Will

Since you already have 3 digital sources, I would recommend you the Naim DAC as a hub for all of them, and also as the best upgradable source for your future upgrades... and it sounds absolutely fabulous as is too!

Just a word of precaution with the PS3 and TV top box, set their digital outputs to 2 channels (stereo) SPDIF, because if you're leaving them in 5.1 ambiophonic channels mode, they won't work.

Bye.
