I assumed that you wanted us to look at reviews too, they are hilarious and I assume it must be the same geezer who did the reviews on the 'Neet Hair Removal Cream' and the adverse affect it had on a very delicate part of his anatomy.

He must have a lot of time but ya can't laughing.

I love these, they restore my faith in the Internet everytime I see one. I especially like the thought of my music playing backwards if the arrows are pointing in the wrong direction

Bloke reads the latest self help book, 'Take Back the Trousers; Rule Your Own Home'.

Following it's advice he walks into the kitchen, slams his hand down onto the worktop and says to his wife, 'Right, from today I'm taking control, my word is law in this house. I want you to get into my study and vac and clean it, when that's done cook us a steak dinner for 6 o'clock and have my favourite beer on the table. Then draw me a bath, bring me a scotch and, when I've finished, my bath robe. I'll go and watch the football but for you there's a dozen shirts of mine to iron. Then get into bed and await my pleasure.'

'And bearing all that in mind' he says 'who do you think will be helping me dress and combing my hair in the morning?'

'Oh I dunno' says his wife, 'the undertaker?'

(OK, who's offended by that?)

Of course Tony has the right to post it.

Well, obviously he has not, otherwise you wouldn't have gone running to the mods, would you?

I'd prefer to decide what I find funny or unfunny, offensive or innocuous. Your offer to do that on all our behalfs may be well-intentioned but it is patronising, self-righteous and priggish.

Some friends of ours lost a child in rather tragic circumstances a few years back. Their way of coming to terms with it was a torrent of black humour and sick jokes about dying kids. I suppose you'd deny them that particular avenue if you'd had your way...

With 7 "Likes", the thread has more "Likes" than any other thread on the first page of the Padded Cell.

OTOH, there is no option to register a "Dislike"

ISTM that every joke will potentially offend somebody or some group of people. Sometimes, depending on what has just happened in our lives, we are more sensitive and more easily offended  than at other times.

As Adam has pointed out, Sickipedia, which is where Tony seems to get most of his jokes from, is dedicated to delivering particularly sick, abusive and offensive jokes.

At the end of the day, the jokes and various comments all helps us form an opinion as to whom we would feel comfortable sharing a pint with.

Sickipedia certainly does have a high percentage of particularly sick jokes, as its name suggests. It also contains quite a few genuinely funny (in the traditional sense) jokes.

To be honest, I'm still surprised that Apple allow the app to continue, but then maybe they've a broader tolerance?

Judging a person's character on their sense of humour is a very poor measure. As has been rather eloquently pointed out by Kevin, a liking for " dark" humour often stems from being frequently exposed to human misery and cruelty.

In the course of my work I dealt with some pretty horrific examples of man's inhumanity to his fellow man, and most of us in this situation used sick humour as a way of inoculating ourselves against it.

I think its an excellent measure,  personally. I have no interest in getting to know someone,  for example,  who thinks its funny to joke about someone's race, or their disability,  or at the death of a child. I spent almost two decades working in the NHS and I did see people using dark humour to cope with their experiences,  but they did so with other professionals who understood and who had experienced similar things, they didn't seek to do it on a hifi forum.

I said it "helps". So do many other factors.

It seems that many of us have been in situations where sick humour is used as a means of coping.

$8000 is used price, $500 was the price for the new cable.

Everything about this product is hilarious.

I believe forty years of it has made me slightly odd. You sure don't wanna be in it now Mr Dayjay! I'm thankfully retired.

36 years with 5 years 10 months and 2 weeks left before I retire, not that I'm counting.

It looks as if you might be in need of the Retirement Countdown App Steve, it is accurate to the nearest second.

It's just been revealed that Harold Shipman was taken to see a child psychiatrist as a youngster because of his fascination  in cutting up dead animals.

His mother was told that when he grew up, he would become a either well known doctor, or a prolific serial killer.
