wireless printer

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced wireless printer/scanner for use with i mac / i pad.

It's only for basic use, the odd family picture and documents etc.

I was thinking Epson but open minded?

Thanks
Gary

I got an Epson RX515 from Costco a couple of weeks ago. £50 ish. Works surprisingly well over wireless including the scanning. Using OSX Snow Leopard.

I use Epson. I like the separate colour ink cartridges rather than the all in one HP use.

Odd recommends if I may say so. The latest OS allows wireless printing. As I understand it this is currently set up only for HP printers so Epson is a no go. I stand to be corrected.

Most HP printers use separate ink cartidges now.
The new Internet Printing feature from HP could be worthwhile looking into as well.

You're right Mike. You need an HP AirPrint enabled printer and there are few of them about.

I had several Epsons until I got my HP. HP rules. Epson is a disposable product by comparison. Don't have an HP model for you, but I will never buy another Epson.

It's not just a matter of preferred printers or brands. At the moment there are only 8 or so printers that'll work with iPad, iPhone or whatever, and they're made by HP and support Airprint.

There is a free app from Epson that allows printing, using certain Epson printers, from an iPhone/iPad.It let's you print from your photo album.

Our Canon Pixma MP980 works wirelessly with my iMAC and her MS laptop.
I can't comment about any iPxxxx products as we don't have any. My perhaps stupid logic says, if iMAC works , shouldn't all the other iProducts do so too?

The built in iPhone printing software, available from release 4.2 of IOS, only works with printers supporting Airprint, and at the moment only eight HP printers do that. To use any other printers you'll need an app. I've got Epson iPrint but that only prints photos. There are others but I couldn't find any free ones and as it's not an urgent requirement for me at the moment I've not tried them.
