Brandi Carlile

Nicer with all the glossy production stripped away...My son is playing the bass on a cover of this in the school rock band. I'd never heard of her until then, but what a voice.

She's been getting played on Radio 2 and I've thought she sounded worth getting to know better.

Hey csl we have nearly the same system and job!

Yes somehow I have managed to acquire this level of kit, far beyond my original plans or expectations.  The right second hand opportunities just kept popping up at prices I couldn't resist.

A friend who went to the GSD had a t shirt with Munch's Scream on it.  It said, "They can't hear you scream from the third tray"  or something like that.  Referring to where thesis students were located.

My job is a bit of a misnomer, as I spend 20% of my time doing design work, and 80% doing construction, cabinet making and project management in the field.  The Chris Bell project was design/build.  It is a far more challenging business model than I originally had thought.

I saw the house you referenced-very nice.

You should really pick up some of Brandi Carlile's stuff, it is very good.

I'll definitely get some of her work - It seems 'The Story' is a slight departure into the mainstream?  I like it but hope other stuff is a bit more individual.

My 'Drummond House' is about to be published in the 'New York Times' so I'm well pleased.  End of the month I think but like you it's a small percentage of 'the day job'. (Otherwise I could never afford naim!)

You'll have heard the joke about the architect who wins millions on a double roll-over lottery.  When asked if the money would change his life he replies 'No, I'm going to continue being an architect until it all runs out'

An old coworker from KMW in Boston sent me that link 6 months ago.  It was a pretty accurate assessment of our time at that firm.

Great news about the NYT press.
