Mojo - why did I wait so long?

I've been catching up on all the new music I bought over the last few months. One particular stand-out is Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers last album, Mojo. I can't stop playing this! In fact, being something of a fan of TP, I can't believe it has taken me until recently to crack this one open and give it a spin. Not a weak track to be found either. I just hope it doesn't end up like Full Moon Fever, an album I couldn't stop playing way back on its release but one that now gets little play. I dug out the old vinyl copy I have a few days back, and it still doesn't quite do it like it used to. Perhaps, like fine wine, it just needs to be layed down a bit longer...

Wine helps in any perception.

I like old TP stuff but don't have any, so I'll have to look into it.

Richard - I read a great glowing 5 star review of this and then a very mediocre one. I am afraid, at first, I was more on the mediocre side but it has grown on me a lot and I really like it. For some reason, I found I enjoyed it more on vinyl (which is unusual for me).

Like you, Full Moon Fever is one I rarely play these days as it was overdone at the time, but one day I may give it another spin.

FMF is a superb album. I must get a copy of of Damn the Torpedoes though.

Lontano, I thought you might come round to Mojo.

Wasn't Full Moon Fever great at the time? It will be several years before I could ever listen to it again. Wildflowers is a strong, interesting album.
