Who will be the next Ipswich Town manager?

After Sunday's X-rated showing on the BBC - surely Mr K should live up to his words
Keane told BBC Radio Suffolk: "I do feel I can turn things around. But you need that time and support and sometimes you don't get that - I live in the real world." Keane, who resigned as Sunderland manager two years ago this week, added: "If the morning comes and I don't think I can turn things around, I'm not one for hanging around."
It is often said some managers lack a Plan B, but in this case we lack a Plan A.
I know Roy is a nice guy and we have all been behind him, but we have to move on - yes I know the first Budgies goal was handball, yes I know Holt divided to get Delaney sent off, yes I know the referee had all Delia's cook book's and seemed to be wearing a Squawkers shirt, but we were woeful.
I'd like the board to give Sir Paul Mariner a call.

As a Norwich fan, keep RK there as long as you can, as a human being sack him as soon as you can. The guy is a complete idiot, just look how he behaved at the world cup for Ireland.
Norwich have much less money but when you see the leadership Lambert has brought to Carrow Road you realise how important the manager is, I can't believe any Ipswich fan believes RK is good for their club.
Clearly I don't want to see a too successful Ipswich side but I wouldn't want to see them relegated either - I missed not having a derby last year. The longer you keep RK the more likely you will be in a relegation scrap.
Who should you get is a good question but if your board have stuck with RK for this long they are just as likely to make another duff decision.
You may end up where Norwich were under Roader - bloody terrible and broke.
Get your RK out banners out and have a fresh start before it's too late....

1-1 draw - I was there.quote:Originally posted by Exiled Highlander:I seem to recall Aberdeen played there in 1981....how did that go?quote:- Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan have all visited Portman Road and we've beaten them all
Cheers

Aberdeen goalkeeper was outstanding - never seen a guy stop so many shots in one evening.
Aberdeen had a pretty good side in those days.
We were as good as anybody in those days and Aberdeen got past us over the two legs.
If we had a match right now then I think both teams would struggle a bit.

Very sensible words - I fear you may be right about our board. I don't think we'll go down, but I'll be amazed if we finish anywhere near the play-offs. We do have some good players, but .... well at least we play well in the snow.quote:Originally posted by fathings cat:

Bring back the Cobbolds.

The Aberdeen keeper that night was Jim Leighton. 91 Scottish caps and 45 clean sheets - a great record.
Booby Robson said after the game that Aberdeen could never play that well again. Apparently we did at Pittodrie when we beat you 3-1.
Great days for both teams and we really stink right now. It's painful to go watch to be honest.
Cheers

Well just when we hoped our manager might leave - Jack Colback goes - as if things weren't bad enough - we've now lost our best player.
Bring back Jack Colback

Well ROTF your hopes of keeping Colback weren't helped by ourselves losing David Meyler to another horrible long term injury in the win against Villa.
...We need everyone on board at present as our injury list is getting silly now ...Cattermole is out for a month whilst Andy Reid has managed to get himself a 3 game ban whilst at Sheff U!
I'm not sure why Bruce doesn't quite seem to fancy Colback for the Prem (yet anyway) - Meyler is a very physical player and everyone knows about Cattermole so perhaps there's a school of thought that Colback needs to be more of a hard man to link better with Jordan Henderson.
We bought Paraguay's Paulo Da Silva in the summer after he made loads of journalist's lists as one of the best defenders at the world cup however Bruce now feels he simply isn't up to the physicality of the Premier League and he's hardly figured this season (Titus however has been immense!)
I'll always have a soft spot for Keano as he performed a miracle in his first season with us in the championship (albeit he was given a s**t load of money to do so) but your results have been crap and there was no other option
...I say go for Sean O'Driscoll at Doncaster, his team play excellent classy football which will suit the Ipswich purists and I think he'll be on a few boardroom's radar with all the recent sackings - get in there first!

Roy Keane has issued this statement after his departure as manager of Ipswich Town.
"I'm hugely disappointed to be leaving Portman Road. Results haven't been as good as I'd have hoped so far this season and when results aren't good the manager gets the sack, that's the game.
"However, I have a genuine belief that we were making progress and that the players have what it takes to turn this season around. We were preparing well for our visit to Chelsea on Sunday and then our Carling Cup semi with Arsenal. Getting to that semi proves what I know the team is capable of.
"I was also working hard to build the squad during the transfer window, looking at our options to attract new players to the club. I have loved my time at Ipswich, living locally to the Club with my family, and have a massive respect for the club, its staff, the fans and the community and I wish them well."
Charlie MacFarland will be picking the team to beat Chelsea on Saturday and to knock Arsenal out of the Carling Cup next week.
I doubt Sean O'Driscoll would leave high-flying Donny for us - I agree they play really good football.
Big Sam is free.

Is Roy happy?
Is Roy happy?

Today I've been playing Elvis
To say we were rubbish is an insult to rubbish.
Roy's parting comment was he was sorry to leave because we were really well prepared for the visit to Chelsea.
I fear for us when we playParis St Germain Arsenal.
Bring back Roger Osborne (1978 and all that).
My choices for manager are
Unfortunately Sir Paul is off to Canada to director of player development for Toronto FC.
What about Arnold Muhren?
Or failing that I wonder if Mick Stockwell could be the man
..... what we don't want is another name ........
