David Kelly - another classic distraction ploy

I mean, is it me? I have no problem with the notion that Dr Kelly took his own life - the idea, introduced relatively recently, that he might have been assassinated seemed too far-fetched - but the point is surely why he committed suicide - the bullying tactics of the spooks who pushed him over the edge. The line now seems to be 'yes, he killed himself, that's what we told you in the first place, now let's move on..'
Errr....NO.

Very specific challenges have been made reagarding the post-mortem findings and the lack of a formal inquest into the mode of his death. The publication of more detail is designed to counter that, I don't think it is deliberately diversionary.
Interestingly details of his mental health history have specifically not been released. Not clear to me why.

What I found most annoying about the whole Iraq dossiers episode was when the then Blair government took on the BBC, and won the limited victory in the courts over the accusation that the BBC had not been as diligent as they should have been over their reporting, that their legal victory was sold as them always being right about the content of the dossiers they had presented.
Their dossiers were full of lies and half truths that suited Blair and his lackies, but the BBC could have been a bit more in depth about checking its coverage. We were told Blair had won in the courts, and the BBC were liars.
Dr Kelly unfortunately was caught between the then government and the BBC, one who were trying maybe too hard to tell the truth, and one who were doing all they could to discredit anyone they perceived as against them.
