Sony have misjudged the price, and I'll be checking again in six months' time, as dealers look to dispose of unsold stock. If anyone spots this happening earlier, a post here would be most welcome!
The equivalent CDs are impressive, though, and nicely packaged.

Order from Amazon US. I was able to preorder at $132. I believe it is now around $170.
In a similar fashion many Stateside have ordered the Stones box set from Amazon Germany as it is less expensive.

I received mine yesterday and what a wonderful set it is. Perfectly pressed with no vinyl noise.
All the lps sound better than the Sundazed mono equivalents. They're more open, Dylan sounds more lifelike and generally more engaging. They all sound great.
It's an expensive box, but well worth it if you like Dylan.

I have been listening to my set during the past week. This should be a mandatory purchase for everyone. The music is absolutely fundamental and groundbreaking. The quality of the box set sets a new standard. A true labor of love.
HIGHLY recommended.

Agree with Greg. Mandatory. Not to expensive from Amazon.

Listening now. The pressings are superb and the music very important especially when you consider it was all done before 1966 when old Bob was only 25.

uh oh, don't tempt me. I happened upon his first 2 LPs in a box given to me. The early stuff is important but I'll have to go back and listen to see if I want it. I have the reissue of BonB.
Bobby was young just like the Stones and all the others. Then a hard fast life took over.

Hi
The record label "Music on Vinyl" based I think in the Netherlands are pressing their own versions of the new mono remasters. The lacquers have been sent over from the US and are cut and pressed in Europe. They are available singly from Amazon , so if you want to cherry pick one or two, not a bad idea. When you search say for "Blonde On Blonde" on Amazon be sure to check that it's the "MOV"edition there are many.

Gregg and Jay,
I have most of the original Columbia mono Dylan LPs in fairly good shape. Have you done any comparisons?
Thanks

I have one -- The Times They are a Changin'. Gregg and I did a very quick comparison. The new ones are very close. They probably have more bass. I would say, though, if you have clean originals, there is no need to buy the box. Indeed, the original had something going for it over the box.
