Anyone Pre-Ordered HiFace EVO?

Not sure if it's available already in other parts of the world but in the UK it's available in the next 10 days (according to Purite Audio).

Anyone pre-ordered? Or getting one? If so why? what led to your decision?

(I think this thread has all the halls marks of a best seller..)

Can someone explain to me the difference between a Toslink and an optical ST? Google has failed me..

Holty - the ST cables just have a bayonet type locking collar compared to the push fit toslink type. IIRC the optical transmitter and receivers are also higher spec (wider bandwidth) than the toslink units. Last time i saw these type of connectors was on the Deltec DAC's and the AT&T tx/rx units were rather delicate.

I've had an EVO for a couple of weeks but not compared it to the HDX yet as it still goes to a Stello DAC100 (which is being replaced by a Naim DAC + XPS now).

The EVO has been trouble-free and is used with a new MacMini (SSD) which I use for internet radio (would sure be nice if the HDX could receive radio) and for streaming/ripping movies from the NAS.

A friend and I visted Keith ( purite audio ) yesterday ,he had both Weiss INT and EVO there, too close to call, the Evo was powered using a lithium battery it was superb.
The Weiss also extremely good, and with volume control of course.
