DVD-A Rip

Had a look and seems exactly what I need. Will try out this weekend on a "Automatic for the people" DVD-A

You need a program called DVD Audio Explorer. I have ripped all of my DVD-A discs using this freeware application.

Please post on the board if you need any more help with it.

DJ is that PC only, it's not clear.

What about SACD, is there a way to get the stereo tracks off?

There is no known way to rip SACDs digitally. I believe that the Oppo DVD player can be modified to digitally output from SACD but that is not likely to be an option that you want to take.

There are SACD rips to be found although these are done by recording from the analog output of a good quality soundcard. A standard DVD-ROM drive can read from DVD-A discs but now from SACD. The only analog out recoded SACD rips that I have heard have been a couple of the Bob Dylan hybrid discs and a couple of the Rolling Stones hybrids. They sound pretty good.

Or by sending PCM through HDMI and splitting out the audio signal - the Cambridge Audio universal player can do this without modification - you do need a splitter box though.
