it is cheaper to get them printed at an online place eg
www.Photobox.co.uk
no ink cartridges to dry out, no paper to only partially use, and the ability to choose the size of prints you want for a project or album.

Hi Sloop, don't know if this helps but my wife was the same a couple of years back and I got her a little HP which she loved to use but IMO was sh*t in terms of quality at least partly because of lack of control. However, using the proper canon printer via PC scared her for some reason...
I recently got one of the brand new Canon all in one jobbies, printer, scanner, copier which also allows you to connect camera or card direct (or you can use wifi) and control it from little pop up screen and soft touch buttons on top. So it's replaced the old printer, the scanner and her HP box and I think it's great. Needless to say, quality is excellent.

Thanks Jamie,
We already have a laser 3 in one at home so I don't want to go that route thanks.
Just like your wife mine doesn't want to go near the PC to print.

Hi,
Try the Canon Selphy range. I have the ES1 (old model). It produces excellent results , although at 22p per pic it is not cheap.
It uses a dye sublimation process which produces instantly dry photos and is generally a lot cleaner than the normal inkjet technology.
There seems to be plenty of new models around currently , which is always a good sign.
Hope this helps

If you have a half decent A-I-One, is too much to expect the SWMBO to insert the memory card from the camera into the printer?

Thanks Dave that looks just the sort of printer I think is needed.
Howard, the current printer does not have that option, its more of an office behemoth.

Well I ended up getting
a Cannon Selphy
and Mrs Sloop was delighted.
I have to admit the quality of the printed pictures is top class, easily as good if not better than some of the commercial options available.
