Ripping using MAX vs XLD in AIFF

All,

Does anyone know why MAX rips at a higher bit rate for AIFF than XLD?

MAX does it at 2116KPS and XLD at 1411.

Anyone know why?

I can't find an answer on the MAX forum

Might be worth checking in your Max Preferences > Formats > Encoder Settings that you have 16 bit selected?

24 bit was selected so I've changed it to 16

I guess there will be no sound quality diff as CD's are 16bit anyway.....
