I don't know any famous guitarists, but all the guitarists I know are passionately interested in what other guitarists are doing. You don't need to work in a vacuum to be creative and original.

I enjoyed every second of this. I don't even play a guitar, it still had my attention from start to end.
Who, what inspires them, old concert footage, fantastic.

Just started watching AC/DC "Plug Me In" (Christmas prezzy). Great group (as usual), but I always wonder if Angus has damaged himself with all that head-banging.

I haven't watched the No-Man yet - I must do. I was at the show with Denis A and it was one of the hottest and stuffiest things I have ever been to.
Just watched this rather wonderful film though.

It looked it. Good concert but I found the guitars dominated the vocals a bit particularly in the first half or thereabouts. What was the sound like on the night? The big bonus was the 86 minute documentary and the videos.
Kind Regards

Trying to wade through 4 hours of the Peter Cronenburgh epic about Tom Petty (Sky Arts), it's very good , but had a rest after an hour.
Is that Rory G on the cover of the Strat Masters?

Yes!
They're all there.
Indeed a great double set.
But no chapters and subtitles.

Could be but i'm not sure, sorry that i can not be of more help.
I'm sure that if ROTF reads this he would know?
I know that jack played bass with John Marshall on drums on the Soft Machine album - Land Of Cockayne, which is an excellent album.

Chris,
I have just found John's profile on Drummerworld and confirms his Harmony Row appearance. An excellent drummer who has played with some fabulous musicians.

Yes John Marshall played drums and percussion on ex-Manfred Mann's bassist Jack Bruce's Songs foe a Tailor in 1969 and Harmony Row in 1971.
John was the drummer with Nucleus at the time of Harmony Row; he joined the Soft Machine in 1972 for the elpee Fifth and is still a member of Soft Machine Legacy (more of a project than a group).
John appears on many diverse albums including the original Lloyd Webber/Rice Jesus Christ Superstar from 1970.
And to complete the Manfred's loop, I think John was the drummer on Mike D'Abo's original cut of Handbags and Gladrags, however it was the version Mike gave and produced for Chris Farlowe that was the hit.
