When the no-man DVD comes out is when I will be completely satisfied. The Bush Hall gig can't come soon enough. Happy listening

Wish I had watched it last night. I have just returned the first copy I bought from HMV this morning as disc one wouldn't play, only to find same fault with second copy. I have tried it on three different players. It only affects the first of the three discs.

Watched Celine Dion " A new day - Live in Las Vegas" last night on Blu-Ray. Not normally my cup of tea (bought for the better half) but, wow, what an awesome production!
Sound's excellent also.

ZZ Top - again!!
Posted on: 10 July 2008 by Chris Kelly
We followed ZZ Top with "The Steve Miller Band - Live in Chicago". I can thoroughly recommend this to any fan of the Space Cowboy. Tremendous gig, very well filmed and recorded.

Had an evening home alone so watched the Love story dvd and "Shine a Light". Love were one of my all time favourite bands (from the first time around - I'm no johnny-come-lately!) and this is a great ilm of their story with extensive interviews with Arthur Lee himself who died 2 months before the film was completed.

We watched "Shine a Light" on Blu-ray last night (it's an import but isn't region coded).
Very good - worth getting if only for Buddy Guy's guest slot. Wonderful!

I thought it was excellent even on standard dvd Tony. I agree about the Buddy Guy section. Rivetting. I also thought Jack White was very good. Not so sure about Christine Aguillera though. Maybe that was just to expand the appeal of the movie. Or Sir Mick fancied a lech!

No Direction Home. Scorcese's masterpiece homage to RZ. How much does the "newly electric" Dylan in England look like Cate Blanchette? Freaky.
How lame must those twats who publicly dissed the electric shows feel now? They were there for what some consider the birth of modern contemporary music and they had no idea. They booed "Like a Rolling Stone", FFS! Hey, it's easy in hindsight, eh!
Joan Baez is (still) legend.
If they ever do a Ginsberg bio-pic, Jeff Goldblum is a special for the lead role.
