Hi
Has anyone bought a copy of "The Soul of Man" a CD (and DVD) in the Martin Scorsese presents series? It's a soundtrack to a Wim Wenders documentary.
It's a wonderful compilation of almost all new recordings of J B Lenoir, Skip James and Blind Willie Johnson songs by various artists.
Included are Lou Reed, Jon Spencer, Lucinda Williams, Nick Cave,Cassandra Wilson, Beck and many more. The sound is especially good and I think it's mid price at least it was in France when I bought it last week. Thoroughly recommended not just to blues lovers as some of the interpretations cover many categories.
Go buy it you won't be disappointed at £7.
