Help with CD5 please

Hi
My CD5 has developed a problem, CD's will play from the start and also play right through but when you select a track (other than track one)the number of the track is displayed but it will not play.
I have tried powering the CD5 down in the hope of re-setting it, but no joy. Any ideas anyone?.

This is probably a dumb comment but are you pressing the "play" button on the player or remote control after you have selected the track.

The player will not play a selected track via remote control or by manually pressing play.

Sounds like your dealer has some work to do then! This doesn't sound proper at all. Perhaps ask your dealer tomorwo if he know what's wrong with the player.

Sounds like a knackered puck.

Once the puck starts going it can sometimes really fight to do anything other than start.

Problem now solved, it was caused by a mixture of puck slip, new dvd writer and recording at high speed.
