Euro Portugal

Posted by: Uwe Supper on 20 April 2004

Hi Matthew, Alex, John et al!
How come nobody has mentioned the forthcoming Euro in June so far? Wouldn't it be time to name some favourites? Living in France I'd naturally opt for this country, being German I'd say that with their usual luck they will make it to the semi-finals! What do you think?
Cheers
Uwe

Just to be historically accurate: two minutes from the end of the game, when most of the Romanian players had already left the stadium and were singing and drinking in the local pubs, the German team managed to score a goal and make it 1:5. Phew, our reputation's been preserved, then.

Germany 1 Opposition 5,

Now where have we seen that scoreline before?

We don't care how England lose - just as long as they lose.

We are not that unhappy with a loss somewhere towards the end of second week of major champioinships, Steve. It's better than losing every time one takes the field.

48 days to our first game in the Euro. Our first opponent will be the Netherlands. Yesterday, they beat Greece 4:0.

Actually the opinion generally in my office yesterday was that we wanted Denmark to give us a right going over (6-0 or 7-0) as it would improve the chances of getting rid of our joke manager.

According to him last nights game gave hope to all Scotland fans, plus he blamed James McFadden (by name!) for us losing...
