antivirus software

I have Panda antivirus software in my computer. I downloaded it with the supplied cd that came with the package. I asked the Panda company if I could use the same software on my daughters computer, and they said no. Is this true? Are they just trying to make me buy another one, or could I download it and it will work on her computer too. I haven`t tried it yet. Any opinions. david

One way to find out! It shouldn't take long to try it.
Software sometimes comes customised so that it only runs on the PC with which it was supplied. For example I brought a copy of Nero home from work and it won't work because my home PC has a different CD writer from my work PC.

On a technical level it probably would work, unless Panda have some sort of activation procedure like XP where the key generated is unique to your PC.
You would most likely be breaking the licence agreement.
cheers,
