Anyone else watching (somehow!) this amazing TV programme on Channel 4?

Fantastic, a cut above above the rest and imho much better than CGI.

Yup, watched the first episode and a bit of yesterdays programme. I'm left wondering why it’s being broadcast though - it’s not exactly a late evening OU broadcast for trainee doctors is it!

I am curious about what motivates Gunther von Frankenstien. I found the programme a bit queasy, but I thought the presenter was strange

Dr Gunther von Hagens clearly has real enthusiasm for demonstrating the wonder of the human body.

I find it fascinating that we (me included) find it so difficult to view the essence of what we are.

Oh; and what's with the hat?

And tonight........... the digestive system from top to ahem! - bottom.

Compulsory viewing for Little Britain's 'Fat Fighters'?

Tough going but very instructive.

I thought it was stunning.

If I had children I would have no qualms about them viewing it. In all my small years on earth I actually learnt last night what its all about. I had no idea the kidneys were there or the fact the food passes basically down the back of your neck. Great stuff.

The scary German gut makes the show as well.

I could only watch a few minutes as it made me feel sick.

I wonder if the 'volunteers' knew their bodies would be used for entertainment. Sorry, but it looked like freak show designed to entertain not educate.

It was made clear that the people involved had donated their bodies not only to medical science, but also for educational purposes.

I certainly learned a lot; but it is fascinating that most of us feel such revulsion viewing the essesnce of what we are.

My twopennorth....

Emjoyed it a lot - learned loads and thought it was presented in a very non-gory way , much to my surprise. Step sons 'Dawn of the Dead' DVD was higher up the gore ladder.

Sacriest bit was the German Doctor, cant put my finger on what it was about him, but was very scary, yet interesting at the same time. Though id add him to my fantasy dinner party guest list.

Oh and did he remind anyone of the nazi (oops) who melted in one of those Indian Jones films...i think it was the similar hat........
