This is great opportunity to revise and radical advice or opinions you provided over the last week or so.
Talk about Captain Kirk this is like a time warp.

Just to start things off I still think:
- Fraim is better than Mana but cost too much
- The 250mkii on the other hand is the best VFM product Naim makes
- Buy that XPS2 you know it makes sense
- Excellent news-All the boring stuf I wrote about DVD-A and SACD has now sunk without trace.
- Only 15 shopping days left to th eenxt price rise (according to my dealer)

Fredrik

I have an awfull feeling it is.
I read a comment on a thread from the admins saying what you see here is the latest backup Infopop had to restore from when the Naim server died.

I'd have thought most people would have a copy of their favourite posts in their "History" folder if using IExplorer. Unfortunately, I didn't read Frederick's organ post, so I don't have that one in my history...... Otherwise I could have re-posted it!

Computers are supposed to work on 1's and 0's - in other words "Yes" or "No" - why does mine frequently say "Maybe"?......

Duh!
You are right. I had forgotten that.

Don't panic. The "organ piece" is still there in the Music Room. At least is is in my spacial/time dimension.

The History folder does not store the data, only a web link to it. Therefore, if it's no longer on the (Naim/Infopop) server, you won't be able to access it through your history.

"I feel especially sorry for Mr Tibbs"

Thank you Geoff.

Fortunately they got to me in time... They say it was just a cry for help and not a real suicide attempt though.

Actually it stores the "page"you viewed with all it's contents so the postings are there in full detail.
At least it does in XP on my PC.

As we can see the "organ" piece (amongst others) on our (XP) computers when we click on the "Music Room" is there any way one of us could transfer the post (or even the whole thread) back to the forum? Perhaps as one long post? So that it is re-archived. Or have I completely lost the meaning of this conversation?

At least it does in XP on my PC.

In that case I must apologize; I'm running W98. If complete posts or threads really are stored on your HD you should be able to run a search for a single keyword contained in a post. In my system, this yields no results (only images are stored).

I use Win98 and through the History, I can view all of the pages that I have previously visited. If I haven't viewed a particular page or thread previously, I am unable to view those pages "off-line" as they were never stored in my cache as I have never viewed them. That's why the search function won't work; if you see what I mean!
