Those clever people at big G have produced another fun little toy, whatever will they do next?

Yes, Having tried it out it works a treat.
I imagine that other countries will be introduced as they sign up enough advertisers.
Great if you carry a laptop are on holidays in a strange location.

yeh, 10 times as good as Mulitmap/streetmap etc. Moving the map around with the mouse is excellent.
They need to get UK on there

I like the way that the data is downloaded as you drag the cursor around the map so that the empty spaces in the map are filled almost as fast as you can drag the cursor. The display being almost a text display and not a graphical object rich environment must I think help with the speed of use.
All in all a good interface.
Might look good as the navigation UI for the Star Gate at Star Gate command

I bet it works nicely on an iPAQ or Palm.
Can't see Europe on there though

This is the fasting zzomin map applet I have seen. However I think that is only because in the US they only have horizontal and vertical streets that are dead straight, in nice neet grid patterns.
I bet it would not be this fast with our wibbly wobbly streets in the UK
