Maybe I should have went with the Elites?

Gentlemen
Being unable to hear the Neat line here in New York, I did the next best thing and asked the question here. The consensus at the time leaned
towards the Mystiques as the best for my system (CD5/FC2/Nait5). Yes, the Mystiques are wonderful but I cant help to think that just maybe I should have went with the Elites.
I dont plan on replacing the Nait anytime soon and a CDX2 is out of the question, at least until I can pickup a second hand unit when the CDX3 appears.
If the question lies in the Naits ability to drive the Elites, would a NAP150 satisfy? How much harder are the Elites to drive? The Nait has no trouble with the Mystiques.

So, can I put this to rest in the confidence that I made the correct choice?

The problem is not just power requirements, but quality of signal. The Elites are VERY revealing, and can magnify any shortcomings in the rest of your system. I've heard them your system's configuration, and they really bugged me. In contrast, the Mystiques can make a much wider range of systems sound wonderful (even if they don't sound quite so "open" as the Elites).

Of the two, the Mystiques are definitely the best match for your system.

Hi Emil,

I'm thinking about a pair of Mystiques to go with my Nait 2. Couple of questions?

What is it about the Mystiques sound that makes you wonder if the Elites would have been a better choice?

Also, I know you purchased Mana Soundbases. How have they changed the sound? Money well spent?

Thanks for your help!

What can I say. We never seem to be happy with what we have. Big Grin
The Mystiques are a wonderful speaker but the Elites should be better. Unfortunatly, they deserve better to get the best out of them.
The Mana soundbases are worthwhile. Somewhat difficult to setup on carpet and with the 30 day trial period, you really cant go wrong.
Expensive for stands but not considering the improvement was akin to a component upgrade.
Its not that the soundbases changes the sound but it allows you to hear all that the Mystiques are capable of.
