iTunes reading dual layer SACD/CD???

I know its not a Naim question, but i was wondering if anyone had found away round the following problem?

Basically i cant get my mac to read the CD layer of any hybrid CD/SACD's it insists on telling me they are blank DVD's!! so cant copy them to iTunes and hence my iPod...

I have an eMac with CDRW and dvd player (not dvd writer/re-writer).

If I put a hybrid SACD in, it just fires up iTunes and queries the Gracenote CDDB for track listings. It has done this from the start, I haven't had to make any adjustments to settings.
I guess yours should respond the same ( unless you have a DVD writer/rewriter).

That might be the problem then, mine has a DVD writer/rewriter... its fine with normal CD's its just Hybrids that seem to stuff it up..

I have a G3 iMac (CD-RW drive) and it reads hybrid SACD’s just fine. I suggest doing the usual when things start acting up: Log in/out, restart, run disk utilities, verify permissions (within the utilities app) etc.
