Yes; just press 'Preamp' on the remote and the numbered buttons will select the inputs.

That should work - wierd!
You have to press the preamp button (once, not hold it), then the number buttons should select the inputs.
That remote is different to mine though, mine only has 3 buttons at the top (Pre / CD / Tuner).
Andy.

I do and the instructions are the same as JN's advice.
Works for me.

Is the remotecontrol standard programed? Or can my dealer do that?

Maybe we don't understand eachother. What i mean is to choice, with the remote control, between CD/TUNER/etc.. on the amp. Not the function of the remote control. Bud the light shown up on the amplifier (behind those buttons the light is green).
I hope you will understand it.

YES we understand it
YES the instruction given here are correct.
here they are again.
On the remote press the 3rd button from the left in the top row marked "preamp"
Then press one of the numbered buttons in the group at the bottom of the remote. For example if you press the button marked "1" the "CD" input on the Nait will light up green.
The only other thing I can think of is that you have the lights turned off on the NAIT buttons.
To turn the lights on the buttons on the nait ON do the following:
Press the "preamp" button on the remote then press the "disp" button on the remote, each press of the "dsip" button on the remote should turn the lights on the NAIT buttons on or off.
Once you have the lights ON you will see that pressing the numbered buttons on the remote(start with "1", then try "2" and so on) changes which button on the NAIT is lit green.
If this does not work you have a broken remote and should contact NAIM.

Hi Robbert,
Good to hear you managed to switch inputs, because Geoff couldn't explain more clearly.
As for displays, it's only possible on the more expensive Naim equipment, such as the CDX2, and the 282. The 202 and CD5 aren't able to turn off their displays.
Cheers!
Kevin

Correction. You sure can switch the display off on a CD5 and 202. Follow the instructions. I can, I did.

Try pressing the 'cd' button at the top and then press 'disp'. The display on a CD5 toggles between:
track number
time elapsed
off

track number
time elapsed
off

I stand corrected then
. Although I'm positive the Nait is unable to switch of it's display

HOW MUCH of an audible effect does turning the display off on a CD5 really have? There's a big difference on my Rega (fluoro display) but the CD5's seems much less "obvious" when on - ie, I struggle to hear any difference at all.
It looks better off though, and I can't read it unless I'm about 2 inches from it anyway (eyesight) so it's turned off by default for me.
Just curious really...?

It's reasonably subtle, I got it right about 80% of the time when I tried a blind test soon after getting the CD5. I've not tried since, I just leave it off.
Andy.

Isn't this, like so many things, psychosematic (sp?)
I too leave mine off.

Never had a CD5
Tried it on the CDX2 in combo with a 282/SC
To my admittedly lousy hearing:
On the CDX2 bugger all difference
On the 282 yes I'm sure it makes a difference. ( I intentionally have the NAPSC as far away as possible aswell)
Result I have the display switched off on both. Gives a nicely symmetrical set of glowing "Naim" logos in the dark with no annoying eye piercing green spot lights oming from the "front end".
Also I like the way it flashes on for a few seconds when you change tracks or turn up the volume.
Daft really but there you are.
