Earth, Wind & Fire: Birmingham NIA

Just got home from a night at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham (walking distance from my house ) having been to see EW&F in concert. Actually my third time seeing them live.
The first couple of times, albeit a few years ago, their stage show was stunning, magical and fun. Musically they were top notch and very very good.
Tonight, the show was MUCH scaled down, and I felt quite disappointed with the lack of their usual flair for a good technical, illusionist show.
They played pretty well, one or two slightly off moments by singer Phillip Bailey, who is usually spot on. The sound wasn't as good as previous concerts, but it wasn't terrible either.
Some of the old favourites and a slightly too long jam session were played.......
Audience seemed to like them and were on their feet for most of the show.
They opened with Boogie Wonderland and included other favourites such as, September, After the Love Has Gone, Let's Groove, Fantasy and Shining Star.
The brass section was great - I love the hard work they all put in and the drummer was brilliant too. Great funky sound and a great groove.
On the whole, I really enjoyed the gig but personally missed their dissappearing acts and huge entrances of years gone by............
Verdict? Worth the effort of the £35 and the #103 bus to go into town and back!
Computers are supposed to work on 1's and 0's - in other words "Yes" or "No" - why does mine frequently say "Maybe"?......
