What to do about speaker wire

Posted by: Steve C. on 17 March 2004

I am in the process of upgrading from a Nait 3 to the 112/150 combination. I have NACA5 speaker wire going from the Nait to my Spendor S100's, but this is a single wire set. I'm currently using a single strand of wire as a jumper for the tri-wire Spendors. What's the feeling about tri-wiring and Naim these days? Stay with the jumpers? Get my single set of NACA set up for tri-wiring?

I think the best thing to do is ask about it in the Hi-Fi Corner

Mr. Slater!

Welcome aboard, Steve.

Consensus seems to be single wire for NACA5; I have Kabers which have three inputs but they come with a metal jumper plate. IMO you should ensure that you have as good a connection between all inputs, either a metal jumper plate, or if you have a friendly dealer, see if they will wire you up a short length of NACA5 to act as jumper.
