Help .... Please!!! (lp12 aro prob...)

Posted by: miles on 25 March 2004

Hi,

I have just bought an armageddon fpr my lp12 and fitted it tonight. I put it all back together and while the platter is turning fine i am getting no sound...

The arm is an aro and I have tested the green, blue, white and red wires from the cartridge to the little plug thing and all give a reading on a multimeter. I know next to nothing (yes I know I should have left it to the experts) and cannot see anythng amiss inside the tt.

Anyone got any ideas or am i gonna have to foot some ridiculous bill to have it looked at??

Thanks for reading this and looking forward to hearing form all you knowledgeable experts out there...

Regards,

Miles the arma is only driving the motor. So your problem has to be in the cartridge/arm/lead/preamp connection somewhere.
Check them all.

What a downer!

If you haven't already thought of this: what did you unplug/unhitch/undo to install the 'geddon?

Let us know.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. I've narrowed it down to the Densen phono stage as I get a sound when I use it with another amp with an MM input. It just seemed so unlikely that it would choose now to break!!

Unfortunately, my cartridge is MC so no vinyl for the moment.

Thanks,

Miles
