Into folk music?

BBC4 (TV) Friday 18th Feb:
21.30 - BBC Radio2 Folk Awards.
23.00 - Coppersongs. I've seen this. It's a lovely documentary about the Copper family, headed by Bob who is a great character and clearly has a passion to keep this traditional music alive.
Midnight - June Tabor in concert at LSO St Lukes, London.

Thanks JN.
Saw last years it was excellent, big "find" for me was Jim Moray. The Waifs were gr8 live but I found their album lacking. June Tabor - stunning as ever.
Can they beat it this year?

I shall be watching the folk awards J.N. I think I have seen the other programmes before
j8hn - I agree with your comments about the live waifs and note your comments on them recorded as I have not heard them on CD yet.
My wife and I rarely like the same music and it was no surprise for me when she said that she found Jim Moray too strident and gimmicky but for once I had to agree with her.
It was amazing to see Martin Simpson play John Hardy live. I had heard it on the radio several times before and always assumed that there were at least two guitars playing, but it was just him - although I was not able to count how many fingers he has.

Martin Simpson is fantastic, tours quite regularly too. I saw him on once, really small venue, which was great as it was like a personal mini concert.
Great player -

I've got Martin Simpson's Righteousness and Humidity album and really like it. Are there any others that are particularly good? I see he is touring as part of Martins4, with Martin Carthy, Martin Taylor and Juan Martin, which looks interesting.
