B139's where is the neediest needer of them! + George Harrison

Posted by: Ian R on 05 April 2004

I have a pair from my old Nightingale NM1's. I dont think my late model Isobariks will need ever so I should sell or swap them for another piece of kit.

Does anyone have any ideas where the best place to advertise them on the web would be? I live in very rural Southern Scotland. Also I wonder what to charge .... a needy Swede offerred 100 pounds each a few years back but I was in mid Isobaric rebuild mode so couldnt let them go

This is not an elaborate attempt to 'discreet envelope' advertise 'em more of an attempt to avoid the drama of ebay...... and ensure the most enthusiastic souls would see them first ...... honest.

'The further one travels the less one really knows' Did you see the Concert for George' ....the other night ..... Amazing, It maybe my first DVD purchase

Overwhelmed by the response I should perhaps have mentioned these are KEF B139 mk2.

DVD or cd of the 'concert for george' I wonder which I'll be glad to have in future. The dvd has DTS sound on it ..... sounds important...

Ian,

Try the Audio Classifieds at Pink Fish, they're quite popular.

I bought a cheapo DVD player and the first two DVDs are Yellow submarine and Concert for George, it is wonderful on DVD, very exciting event and wonderfully done.

Thanks very much for those tips the Falcon page asks for updates when goods are sold...... so it looks like no one needs B139's as the ads there are ancient. I've signed up for Pink Fish and will try there first.

Dear WOLF thanks for the sig.... the drift to Home theatre ( what a phrase) could have begun with the Concert DVD but alas I have drifted from the true faith and enjoy cd's in this speedy lifestyle quite a lot. Although just recently I've been re exploring my Zappa and Beefheart lp's ........ Hot Rats is amazing but so was the Concert for George, Inner Light and While my guitar I thought were utterly transcendent performances...... I gather the DVD concerts were much longer performances .... any comments. I thought Jeff Lynnes recording supervision was superb, even on my tiny telly the mix was all inclusive, tambourine down to Bass Drum and individual voices .... very high quality recording techniques. Deo Gratias
