Hot summer afternoon music

Posted by: Rasher on 30 March 2004

Richyh had a brilliant idea with the listening in the dark thread, and it made me think of music to play on hot summer afternoons, either driving with the lid down or just lazing in open spaces.
Mine would be Duel by Swervedriver which I always play as soon as the sun shines, and is my all time fave song by anyone ever, and Cirrus Minor by the Floyd for the lazy feel with the birdsong, which reminds me of the sounds of the wood pigeons and cuckoos in the woods at the bottom of the garden when I was a toddler.

The Cure - Seventeen Seconds, Faith, Disintegration or Bloodflowers (Pornography is just too scary)
Cocteau Twins - especially Head over Heels
Startled Insects - you won't have heard this, even Nick Lees hadn't heard of them!
Peter Hammill - almost anything for a more reflective mood
Porcupine Tree - especially the more proggy stuff
oh and anything by Caravan...

1000 posts! does this make me a senior member now?

Which reminds me of 'Granchester Meadows' also by PF.

Not forgetting 'In The Summertime' - Mungo Jerry.
