ARO-cartridge fixing compatibility

Posted by: Brucie on 15 April 2004

I have just had an ARO installed on my LP12 with a Dynavector DV20 cartridge. Seeing as there are only 2 holes to fix the cartrdige that means one cannot adjust the azimuth (right?).

Does this matter? I understand the dynavector cartridges are a good match with the ARO so does that match extend to the physical matching as well as the sound perhaps?

It sounds fine enough and I can hear major improvements over my Ittok.

Comments welcome.

Brucie,

can't exactly answer your question, but be sure to remove (completely) the side weight when using dv20 with the aro. sounds even better (if you haven't already done it!) this can be checked with the supplied spirit level.

Keithy,

Do you mean the little dangly counter weight? How will this affect spirit level readings?

Thanks

hi brucie,

no, not the dangly bias weight; i'm talking about the small balance weight on the shaft fitted to the side of the arm cup.
