After The TG Box, TG + and Mutant TG, there is now 'A Taste of TG' for beginners, and also coming up Re:TG for the live experience.
Anyone going?

No, but I'm waiting for the TG remixes (Mutant?) on vinyl from my local emporium. Is it any good David?

I had a mad mate at Leeds Uni who loved TG and insited on playing them on rainy Sunday afternoons. Especially 'Hamburger Lady'. This put me off them for about ten years, although I do have the First Report on vinyl.
However, I bought 20 Jazz Funk Greats and the Third Report through the week, to give TG another try. 20 JFG is fantastic - must have been well ahead of its time. I like the Mutant/remix album too. But sadly, ten years have not changed my failure to grasp the 'more challenging' material on the Annual Reports...

I used to go to the same pub as Genesis P-Orridge, as he used to live in the flat above the bike shop. I had some early TG LP's, but never really got into them. I have loads of Phychic TV though, which I always loved.
Good to see that Genesis is doing OK, although I'm not too sure about this transgender experiment, although if anyone was going to do it, s/he would.
Shame we don't have people like this living in Brighton anymore, it's now just ex-spice girls and Brittany Spears.

I bought the TG Five Album box in 1981 (or thereabouts). One of these days, I plan to play it.
What put me off was, I wore the box's cool little badge to work, and was asked by an oldtimer why I was wearing the symbol of the British Union of Fascists. The box has been gathering dust since that day.

Davie, to ease your conscience, I am prepared to give a home to the box set, let me know the postage costs to England !
I used to have one of those badges too.
The use by TG of transgressive and confrontational imagery is one of the usual sticking points with them.
There is an offical response on the use of the lightning icon / imagery from Industrial Records here:

Shame about the re-TG thing being off, but they are going to play one last time next year, and since I couldn't get to re-TG that's no bad thing.
I can recommend the TG24 and TG+ boxes to anyone who likes this kind of stuff. 34 Cds of live material, more than enough even for me.
Anyone worried about the imagery TG were prone to use should read Simon Ford's excellent book Wreckers of Civilisation, which puts the whole thing in the performance art context to which it belongs.
