Thorens td 160

I bought one for about 65$. This is the first model, and is a great surprise. For the price, is a best buy for sure, but it really sounds very good. I gave a LP 12, Micromega stage 3 and 90/2 for a CDI and a 140, and now with the Thorens I'm sure that the difference between Micromega 90/2 and the CDI 140 is much much greater than the difference between Linn and Thorens.
But I'm looking now again for a linn because in a way the Thorens sounds sometimes boring compared to the Linn.

I think that the LP12 may have been based on the TD160.

Both the Thorens and the LP12 were based on Edgar Villchur's (sp?) original AR. At the start, the Thorens improved the parts quality and tolerances; the LP12 much improved the tolerances.

The TD160 has always been a bargain. But it's not an LP12.
