What's with the new craze for username downsizing?

Posted by: Steve Toy on 17 October 2004

Alexgerrard became AlexG, and only in the last couple of days, Ludwig and Matthew Robinson have become Ludders and Matthewr respectively.

Right, I want to be Steve Toy. That way nobody is going to (accidentally) misspell my first name as Stephen.

Regards,

Steve.

No Markus.

Not even for a nanosecond divided into 4.

Matthew - since you're hiding from your stalker, what is the deal with your pre-comedy-limp domain? It's all very www.ilovebees.com.

If you mean matthew dash robinson dot com, it was pointed out to me by Joe Petrik the other day. I think it's a spam thing as some semi-hidden sub-pages are full of medical terms and link to ADHD and Viagra spam sites.

I guess, since that domain has some Google ranking from its days as the home of the FAQ, its all in aid of fooling PageRank into upping the spammers site ranking.

All very odd and I was quite surprised to find they went so much trouble. No idea where they got the Naim related copy from -- the official site I guess.
