NACA5: any detremental effects if shorter than 3m is used?

Just wondering if anyone has tried shorter lengths? I'm looking at maximum of 2.5m, can't go longer as my second half has seriously threaten to cutting it herself if it coils around any longer looking "like a snake"

Naim state that a minimum of 3.5 m/channel is used to ensure stability of their power amps. Shorter lengths could result in terminal damage.

Kinetic,
Laurie is right, try heating the cable with a hairdryer and forming it back on itself, maybe held with cable ties, to make it neater.

I'd be interested in finding out what type of cabling I could use for a run shorter than 3.5m.
The distance from my power amp to center channel will be about 1m and I don't want to have another 2.5m of cable wound up lying behind my TV if at all possible.
