Pointless new laws?

So, the police don't have the manpower (would you want their job?) and the politicians listen to democracy by volume. We end up with new laws being introduced, headlines everywhere.....then nothing.
Litter louts and mobile phone users very rarely get nabbed by the rozzers. For a law to work it has to be respected.
Any other pointless laws on the way?
