Has anyone used this bank? They seem to be offering a pretty good deal - 5% interest and absolutely no strings attached.

I've had a deposit a/c with ING for over a year. They're not offering the highest rate currently; you can get more elsewhere, especially if you're prepared to lock it in for 2 years.
On the benefit side, there's no petty rules and restrictions, you get the same interest rate on any size deposit regardless of whether you want monthly or annual interest. I'm happy with them - suits my present needs.

I'm with them too, I find them easy to use, and being internet based so you dont have to get stuck in voice jail!

ING (Or more specific ING /Postbank group)is a Dutch bank,
It's formed from two very old established merchandiche banks which go back to the so called "golden Age".

Sounds good - I'll give it a go. I like the no-strings nature of the deal, I need instant access to all of my money - you just never know when you might need to make an emergency purchase of a new toy!

Bear in mind that "instant access" means it'll take about 3 working days to hit your current account
Other than that I like the way you can separate your acount into different buckets. We've got a "holiday fund", "rainy day fund" and a "speaker fund" though the latter is not full enough yet to be emptied

I have had a problem with them, one that continues to this day. Long story short, closed a loan account, even have the papers from ING saying the account was closed, signed etc..
4 months later I check my credit record and POW, all three agencies have me 30 days late, two months in a row.
Well, I flip out, calling everyone in the world. ING says they will take care of it. 3 months later, nothing is done.
I then call the person who handles the interaction between ING and the credit agencies, she send me the forms they say they keep sending to the agencies.
Well, two of the three eventually fall off, but one still remains to this day, two years after I closed the account.
I was never late, always in good order and this is what I get. I say thumbs down, this should not happen. They should have fixed this. It should not be my responsibility to keep fighting this battle. Also, to sue (ok, its the US) a credit agency in the US is a huge ordeal. Once you file a suit with a rating agency, they freeze your account, blocking any queries. I was told by my bank that its a huge red flag.

I have dealt with them for years, completely on the internet. Everything has gone flawlessly to date, and I can do my banking at 3am in my shorts (as one does).

What is that tune they use in their TV ads? I am sure I remember hearing it a lot on the radio when I was a lad.
