Matthew, can we expect the 'Crankwobbler II - 20 inches of air' DVD anytime soon?

After hearing I was buying a BMX, and after she had stopped laughing and repeating the mantra "But you're 37", my friend Liz wants a video of my BMX exploits. Specifically my very first attmepts. She was very clear about that. I think I'll call it 'Hot 20" Action'.

Maybe an Alex vs Matthew 'Cove King of Dirt' competition?

As senior members of the Cove Nation (Over 30s Branch) Alex and I my treat you to some of our formal display riding -- a combination of garbled memories of the Police White Helmets motorbike display team from Blue Peter and some shit we knicked straight outta the Cycling Proficiency Exam (Advanced). Before Alex's unfortunate wipeout I expect you noticed his text book right turns and flawless roundabout technique?

Alex has to get back on the horse, after all

Isn't it tradtional in these circumatances for Alex to return to the scene of the jump and ride it again, You know facing up to the inner demons and all that?

As Rockingdoc says... ow ow ow ow ow

Why have such a dangerous past time, anyway...

I gather Alex is typing by means of a pencil inserted into his nostril, and nodding as appropriate.

get well soon matey.

Mike

Hope you can still operate the CD player though. Spinning vinyl with only one hand is a bit more tricky...

Mrs S was wondering what you were up to as she hadn't heard from you. She just thought you were too busy wrapping things up down here...

get well soon

The X-ray snap looks a bit X-Files to my untrained eye - did you powers of teleportation fail?

Alex, in an effort to alleviate your suffering, here's a flash MTB game. Press 'spela' to start. You can play one handed with the arrow keys.

BTW, it turned out that the info on that £500 back on bikes scheme was a bit off (ie. completely wrong). However, someone with your skills might be able to put the info to good use. Seems like an unbelievably convoluted way to encourage people to buy bikes.

Alex,
Cheer yourself up by buying a CDS2, you know you want to. I was in Infidelity picking up my new CDX2 when Dominic demo'd a CDS2 with first the LMlabs Electra 926 and then the B&W805. It sounded awesome. He is a dangerous man to know and I backed out of the shop clutching my CDX2 and my wallet.

Apologies - I meant the CDS3. The brain's going. XPS2? I am not aware of such a thing. Wink

I am going to be interested in comparing the CDX2 as it gets warmed up to my turntable. I hope the TT still does not slay my CD playback.

It was good to see you on the mend the other day, Alex. Meanwhile, I've discovered that drain grilles are the exact right size to clamp my front wheel and when set at 45 degrees to the curb, as this one was, that's exactly what they do. Ouch! But no oncoming skip lorries, thankfully.

. . . Densen 400XS - I hear rumours that the displays even work in this year's models.

With your lobster disguise, maybe you should pop down to Cornwall and see if you can catch a few. . . at least the sea water would do you good.
