The Doors - 21st Century

Has anyone seen them or read any reviews?
I know Ian Astbury can be a bit of a pretentious plonker, but then so could Jim Morrison. I'm thinking of buying tickets to see them but it may be a bit too "tribute band" for my tastes....

The name's Lindsay, initials LT, known as Big LT.(hence BLT) The "Big" unfortunately refers to me being a fat b******d rather than any appendage.
How can anyone hate the Doors? I even like "An American Prayer". (For anyone unfamiliar with this work it consists of Jim Morrison pompously reading his 6th form poetry with Doors' music playing in the background)

You can call me what you like (as long as you don't call me late for lunch!)

I found some reviews of their previous shows and they were generally favourable so I have bought some tickets. I haven't been to a gig for ages and ages anyway (over a year). There is a new album coming too, apparently the lyrics were all written by poets and 60's musicians (Warren Zevon wrote one track shortly before he died).

Well, I saw them last night and the show was pretty damn good. Ian Astbury did a sterling job on vocals, sounding (and looking) like Jim Morrison. The only downsides were the average PA system (could have been the lousy acoustics at the SECC) and a tendency to self-indulgent solos by the band.
