Star Trek Enterprise

Have my impeccable standards for TV drama dropped or has Enterprise improved this season to the point that it's no longer painful to watch?
I'll entertain the competing hypothesis that with Buffy off the air, there no longer is anything good on TV (except for the newsy Daily Show with Jon Stewart), so by default crap shows previously not given a passing thought now seem watchable, good even. If so, I also expect 24 to be brilliant this season.

The first series of Murder One - with Daniel Benzali - was good. Then he was sacked and they got some other guy for series two - at which point I stopped watching it.

Allow me to speak authoritatively for a moment.
What y'all haven't mentioned is the fact that, in their lifetimes, Trek series' go through difficult births. Witness the 1st season of TNG, DS9, VOY and even the pilot for TOS. They all had a forced feel to them, nevermind being hideously corny. Once the actors and writers hit their stride, a Trek series evolves into something watchable.
Enterprise is the same. A few seasons of utter, utter crap best avoided morphs into watchable Scifi.
Whether one want to view "watchable scifi" is entirely up to the individual.

BTW, Best TV ever= any British Cop show.

PPS alot of bickering on forums reminds me of the Nomad episode of Star Trek when Kirk and Nomad argue round and round in circles until Kirk lays the conundrum on Nomad, causing it to self destruct.

MIke I think Star Trek really grabs those of a certain age at whatever the current series stands at.
TNG Was my 'Bag' and I did enjoy it, especially after season three and to the end, after that you could see how season one was basically Rodenbury and season two starts to get better.
But DS9 and Voyager are utter crap, you don't feel anything for the characters and DS9 especially the main characters were just as wooden in the end as they were at the beginning.
The continuous and poor references to 'current' ST technology in Enterprise is puke nasty and the muppet captain is annoying in everything he does.
Sorry but a woman with nipples like skammel wheel nuts is not enough especially as demonstrated on this very thread you can see more of her without suffering the shitness of Enterprise.
Basically Start Trek including TNG films have been beyond poor, but always good fun to see how much bigger Riker can actually get.

Agreed, Trek is pretty much plain poor in the grand scheme of things. I mean, the last 4 movies were crap, as were the last 2 or 3 series.
However, for me, Trek holds a kind of diplomatic immunity in that I'll watch it and enjoy it no matter how bad it is. I can't explain why...

Here's a picture of Kim about whom there is plainly too much fuss:
Bunch of arse indeed.
