Stereo Speakers for PC

Posted by: Dave Hartley on 13 November 2004

I'm looking for a pair of Speakers to use with my PC. The PC is a Shuttle system with on board sound. As the O/P to my speakers was very low I had to use their internal ampliers ( didn't need this with old PC )
I have now purchased a Creative Audigy 2 NX USB unit which is a huge improvement but I still need to use the speaker volume control to hear at a decent level. The speakers were very cheap so I'm looking to buy a new pair to improve the sound again.
I only want a pair of front speakers and have no interest in a 5 speaker system.

Can anyone recommend a pair.

Cheers
Dave

Thanks Nick

They look a bit unusual.
I was hoping to buy a decent pair without a sub or rear pair and sub £100..

I'll keep looking

Oh my yes.

These little tubs of goodness can be used with any line level input as well always a bonus for you ipod/iriver owners.

I have the USB versions (erry blue light), these are the headphone style input but both kinds sound great.

There is also JBL Creature Speakers.

TBH I think you will struggle to get dedicated computer speakers that don't have a sub with them, but good luck.

Nick,
I've eventually bought some speakers for new Shuttle. They are the Soundsticks II you recommended..£109 from Micro-Direct.
I'm so impressed with the sound that I'm watching / listening to all my music DVD's on the PC.

Thanks once again

Dave
