Unwelcome ISP

Posted by: alex95 on 14 January 2005

Hi
Everytime I go on Internet Explorer now I get MCN as a homepage as oppose to MSN. I have tried changing this back in the control panel to no avail.
Any ideas on how to get rid of this ?
Thanks

Sounds as if you've had your Browser Hijacked. Download some Adware or Spyware program if you don't have one, and run that.

It tends to solve the problem most of the time, Microsoft have a free Antispyware program which is reasonable.

To get a quick definitive answer, go here,

http://forums.techguy.org/

They will sort you out in minutes.

They are a bunch of nerds/fanatics but they know their stuff and the advice is free.

I reckon you could quickly cure it by clicking on tools at the top of your screen, then click internet options, the address of YOUR CORRECT ISP will be in blue. If the other one is there, delete it, type in the name of your proper IPS, save it and reboot the pc......job done.

Regards

Mick
