Having an efficient accountant, you probably know that if you incorporated after 5th April 2003 you may need to complete a Form 42 by 6th April 2004, and if you don't you may be fined

Seemingly many accountants aren't aware of this (including me, until Michael C warned me, and also including at least half a dozen that I know).

Thanks Alex. I've signed a few forms, but they all look the same to me.

I'll have to check.

Of course, in my excitement at being helpful I mis-typed the filing deadline

The forms need to be with the Revenue by 6th July.

I've just come off the phone after shouting abuse at my accountants for not having my Form 42 delivered by 6th April and I've sacked them. I now know what it's like to be Mick.

I have just seen your last post and I'm thinking what to say to to my past accountants.

How about "did you spot my deliberate mistake and why didn't you correct me?"

I am faced with writing to about 250 clients tonight and explaining the whole bloody situation. It's very crafty of the Revenue to "sneak" such a requirement out and have the filing deadline during the football.

If you are like the majority of my clients, you will expect your accountant to know about the form, fill the form in, tell you about it, file it with the revenue for no extra fee

What did Brown say about reducing the regulatory burden on business?

So what do the Revenue do - create a whole new reporting requirement (carrying hefty penalties for failure to report on time) which they fail to publicise.
