Mountain Bike accessories

Hello All

From reading on here I can see that many of you own mountain bikes and take it quite seriously so I was hoping that some of you may know a good internet based accessory company where I can get some new pedals.

Basically I wiped out whilst riding around a dirt track last weekend and as a result of this one on the pedals is ruined so I need to buy a new set. The type I am looking for has grips on both sides and does not come with toe clips (I much prefer pedals without)> I also tend to prefer metal pedals.

I have looked on wiggle but they do not seem to have what I am looking for. My budget would be about £25-30 so I was hoping that some of you would have ideas or recommendations.

Thanks

Stevie

Wiggle has every type of pedal I am aware of so I'm not quite sure exactly what you are looking for if you can't find it there.

I use either http://www.chainreactioncycles.com or http://www.wiggle.co.uk/ for nearly on my online cycling purchases.

Chain reaction have a "flat pedals" section and that includes several options in your price range:

Azonic Fusion Mag - £24.99
Club Roost 1D Traction Pedals - £24.99
DMR V8 Grease Port - £21.99
Kore Race Platform Pedal - £24.99
Wellgo V12 Copy - £21.99

I don't use flat pedals so don't use much about them, however DMR seem well regarded.

I agree that wiggle is very good for things like this.

I have actually looked again this morning and found something that I did not see the other day. I have ordered a new set now and they should arrive Tuesday.

Thanks

Since we're on the subjet of flat pedals, can I ask a side question?

I have a pair of SPD compatible shoes which I no longer use with SPD pedals ... so does anyone know of a cover or blanking plate that I can bolt in place of the cleats to increase the grip area on the bottom of the shoes?

I was thinking of something like this but that's for Look fittings and so obviously won't work.

Cheers,
Simon

Flat pedal should equal DX clones. The DMR V8s plus a set of Terror Pins would give you epic grip. That said, I use a set of very cheap Wellgos on my Thrillseeker, and they are fine. However, if you like your pedals to run smooth, you might want to splash out on the V12s. I doubt it's worth the extra, it just depends how anal your are.

I run beartraps on my full sus, and occassionally sharpen them up with a file for extra grip. They eat shoes and take lumps out of your leg if you do slip off. I like them, but I would hesitate to recommend them.

Thanks for the recommendation, I now have some DMR's on order.
