S-CDPS

Evening all,
Has anybody tried the new S-CDPs Burndy cable between the CDS1 and it's CDPS power supply.I am still using the original grey Burndy and I would like to know if there are worthwhile improvements using the new cable. The CDS is on a Mana Reference Table with small squares of Rizla paper between it's feet and the glass of the table, and with many cd's it can play at the same volume as the LP12,in other words it sounds fantastic. However there are still some cd,s which can't be played at high volume because of a slight glare and I was hoping that the new Burndy might reduce this.
Regards Conrad.

I upgraded to the S-CDPS burndy from the grey cable about 4-5 weeks ago and haven't looked back. Its fab. More of everything that's good. The sound opens up so much more.
I would say there is less glare and the volume can go higher but you know some recordings are just built that way and some glare will always remain.

Dear Conrad,
Hello, Actually I traded in the CDI for CDS1 like one year ago… It was difficult to get use to the change of music presentation at the beginning. I was more used to CDI’s sounds for long, long time, I bought it brand new when it just came out to the market, and did not really want to get rid of it so easy, great machine!!!. I knew at its time the CDS1 was better, but there you go...
In November last year I changed to the new S-CDPs Burndy cable between the CDS1 and it's CDPS power supply. It is a cable that has to be made only for this CD player at naim hq’s. So I did have to wait a bit…without trying it first…In Naim we trust!! you know…go figure…anyway it is worth it! Again like always with the naim kit you need the certain burn in time factor…the first days awful, no coherence, bla.. bla …I think this was referred a couple of months ago as well. In other words you need patience…difficult to get but worth it…! In an occasion and I do recommend it, after one month or so ..you may unplug it from both ends… (a pain, because it is very rigid, and you ended up sweating and struggling behind the boxes…) I found, it improved afterwards…I can not really describe in audiophile terms but I was nicely surprised.
Today my dear Conrad, I am a happy bunny with it! I must tell you guys that I also have the most impressive obsolete naim kit CDS1/52PS/250chrome bumper/sbl’s /naca5. All from the early 90’s models excluding the 250.. by the way the 52ps it is also with the new black burndy! and black snaics
It is worthwhile improvements using the new cables….in my opinion!
Regards to all
Naimly yours

Thanks for your comments Funky,Brucie and Efrain.I think that I'll invest in a S-CDPS cable so that I can realise the CDS1's full potential. The new cable and the Mana table should bring out the best in the player and hopefully dispel thoughts of a CDS3 for a few years at least!
Regards,Conrad.
