Wireless/NTL/PC setup advice sought.

OK, my friends bought a USB wireless dongle for the PC and a Linksys wireless access point. The PC is working fine cabled to the ethernet on teh set-top box. I can get the PC to see the Wireless access box no problems.
But I stumped how I get the access point>NTL conection sorted.

Can anyone give me some pointers/advice?

Regards

is there an ethernet connection on your wireless device? I use NTL, but with an Airport base station. It was just a case of plugging the ethernet from the NTL box to the airport... but i did need to power everything down and back up again before they would 'talk'

Yep, there is an Ethernet connection - I've plugged that in, but I'm not getting any through connection.

All passwords off (for now)

I guess I need to know; do I set the router to pick up IP addresses automatically? Or do I set it to the PCs IP address?

I don't know the NTL STBs work but I'd connect it back to your PC and check what IP address your PC gets given.

Then check the WAP to see what IP range it is configured to use - you need to make sure the STB is on the same IP range as the Linksys.

I'd do it one step at a time, usually in the Linksys admin website there is an option to do a ping test - check if you can ping the STB from the WAP first.
