Good Luck Ken Bigley

Posted by: Deane F on 23 September 2004

I hope Kenneth Bigley survives his captivity.

I humbly and sincerely offer my condolences to the countrymen of Eugene Armstrong and Jack Hensley. What a godawful way to lose their lives. What a godawful situation.

Frown

Mad

My heart goes out to the British and American members of this forum.

I can't imagine how I'd feel if a New Zealander was taken captive and his/her life used in such a way.

Kind regards
Deane

Whilst in no way belittling the plight of Mr Bigley, I have far more sympathy for the two Italian girls taken hostage. They really were there to help the people of Iraq and had been for years.

I am very pleased that this gentleman is being given so much precious Prime Ministerial consideration, if he gets released even better naturally, and if the worst scenario is realised it won't be through want of trying.
If you think I'm a cynical bastard then so be it, but I honestly believe that if Cherie Blair was herself not a Scouser this guy wouldn't have even been given a second thought in our Tonys strategy for Brighton next week.

Hi Fritz

I don't know if you're cynical or not. What you are - is definitely closer to the action than I am in New Zealand.

I don't catch much of the action with regard to the British political scene or the US pollitical scene - only what I'm fed by the entertainment mentality of the journalists and editors we have here. So I don't have a position on Blair, his wife or how he thinks he might milk the beheadings, the kidnappings, the death of innocents and the suffering on all fronts and in every sphere in Iraq both now and before Blair got blood on his hands.

I feel powerless. I am sad and angry and tired and I'm living far away from the danger and can't help anyone who needs help. Its just a completely ruinous situation in Iraq. No good can come of any of it.
