i am about to move my pc,but the internet cable will be a real pain to re-lay,is there a device to plug one end into my phone socket and the other into my pc,this would avoid a new cable.

Alan,
you need a WLAN cable !
Available for all distances and very easy to hide ! Ask at your local PC shop!

Hi
Correct me if I'm wrong but are we talking about a simple telephone extension cable available very cheap (about £2.99).
Regards
Jim

Thanks

what i want to do is replace the phone cable that runs from my telephone master socket to my pc with a new fangled device that works by pluging one part of afore said mentioned device into the bt socket and another part of the new device into the back of my pc thus eliminating the need for telephone cable.

Mekon,
I can't say. I've only ever used transparent WLAN cable, although non-ferous is good.

Basically WiFi I presume.
Trouble is bluetooth is crap and slow as hell, so useless and I have never come across anything simpler than a wirless router which would pick up and distribute a broadband signal to an appropriate wireless card in a PC.
Is this sort of what your looking for?
