Derek you mentioned software for cataloguing photos, I think you were using a mac.
I would do a search but...
Could you tell me what it was, and any software you have tried for OSX?
I am looking for a more robust solution for my increasing collection, although I like what iphoto does, the places it hides the pictures is beyond confusing!

I have used QPict for viewing and renaming etc and I am now looking at IView MediaPro there is also an entry level Iview product
Both products have web sites
Hope this helps

Its OK, but a bit PC like in its interface.
I\ll check qpict now.

Regardlesss if the interface it is about the basic function of the product that counts
QPict appears to be a bit slow in that it only populates the thumbnails in the displayed area of the screen - it does not generate them before one scrolls down. IView Media does generate them (and stores them away)
IVew has the ability to covert slideshows into "Movies" which might be interesting if one then show them on a TV from a DVD player - another thing to investigate.....

iView would appear to cover my main interest, cataloguing a CD, so for instance if you are looking for *that* picture you can scroll through iView find the CD its on and wack it in.
This is the functionality that iphoto is missing I think.
The fact is I have just compressed the music on my secondary harddrive (The whole output to dac thing is not working for me) so I have around 100 gigs free anyway, but I probably have around 30 gigs of photos on lots of CDs, it would be nice to know whats on them quickly.
