We had our usual unusual Thanksgiving, this time at my mom's house. Lots of family, friends and my mom's Indian Muslim neighbors too. They brought some interesting dishes and I fried an 18 lb turkey (we normally broil it more traditionally or have some sort of game bird). We had low carb dishes, vegetarian stuff, a nice (hot)curried beef dish, pies (high carb dishes!) and all kinds of other stuff. House full of kids and interesting food. Loads of fun, lots to be thankful for.
Now we're eatinng leftovers.

Back in the early 1970s my college was banned from holding a Christmas dinner by the university authorities due a long history of over drinking.What did they expect in an all male college?Anyway,a bright spark realised that having one US exchange student warranted us celebrating Thanksgiving;I have been doing so ever since.Cheers Tony
